At Entech, every great project begins long before fabrication starts. Estimating and Preconstruction lay the foundation for success, transforming ambitious ideas into achievable plans. By aligning creativity with practicality, our estimating process ensures that projects are not only visionary but also feasible - balancing budget, scope, and innovation. This month, we’re spotlighting the capability that keeps projects on track from the very start: Estimating & Preconstruction.
What We Do Best
Estimating at Entech is about more than numbers - it’s about aligning engineering, creativity, and practicality to deliver solutions that satisfy both client vision and budget. We examine every detail, balancing cost, constructability, and creative impact to provide estimates that are as reliable as our final builds.
Our core strengths include:
Technical Precision – Every estimate reflects the unique requirements of ride systems, interactive exhibits, or iconic fabricated structures.
Integrated Approach – Estimators collaborate closely with engineering, fabrication, and installation teams, ensuring continuity from budget to build.
Strategic Growth Insight – Estimating isn’t just about numbers - it’s a foundation for business development, helping identify opportunities, set realistic goals, and maintain Entech’s track record of performance and innovation
The Process
Our preconstruction workflow is meticulous and collaborative:
Scope Analysis – Starting with client-conceived vision, we align on necessary materials, systems, and factors driving cost and schedule.
Cross-Team Alignment – Estimators work hand-in-hand with engineering, design, and leadership to map out a solution that meets budget, quality, and creative intent.
Detail & Document – Every estimate includes clear deliverables, potential variables, and assumptions to support transparent decision-making.
Feedback Loops – We continuously refine estimates as new information or insights emerge - ensuring adaptability and accuracy at every stage.
By embedding estimating in the heart of our process, we set projects up for success from day one - making sure the final product reflects the vision, cost expectations, and timeline agreed on at the outset.
Employee Spotlight: Justin Stehr, Executive Director

Justin Stehr’s career at Entech is a story of growth, versatility, and leadership. He began as an engineer, developing the technical foundation that underpins Entech’s most innovative projects. From there, Justin transitioned into the role of Estimating & Business Development Manager, where his eye for detail and strategic mindset helped shape Entech’s growth trajectory and secure landmark projects. Today, he serves as Executive Director, but his roots in estimating remain a vital part of his day-to-day role.
“For me, estimating is where trust begins. When a client sees that we understand their scope, risks, and goals in detail, it builds confidence that we’ll deliver exactly what we promise. Even as Executive Director, I stay close to estimating because it keeps me connected to both our clients’ vision and our team’s capabilities. It’s where strategy meets practicality.”
At Entech, a “small and mighty” team means everyone wears many hats, and Justin continues to oversee estimating while guiding the company’s strategic direction. His dual role reflects Entech’s collaborative spirit: leadership is not removed from the technical and operational realities of project work but deeply engaged in them to truly highlight the essence of “TEAM”.
For Justin, estimating is more than numbers - it’s about creating clarity and trust at the earliest stages of a project. By aligning creativity with constructability, his work ensures that clients understand not only the cost but also the value of Entech’s solutions. He takes pride in delivering estimates that are accurate, transparent, and practical - qualities that build confidence and set projects up for success.
“A strong estimate isn’t just about hitting a number it’s about understanding what drives cost, where we can create value, and how to balance ambition with reality.” Stehr says, continuing “I’ve always said that in contracts and scope, you write the script that produces the play. If we start clear and aligned, the rest of the project follows with fewer surprises.”
That alignment starts with the specification coming in from the client on what it is that they are looking for in their project. Justin often refers to the image below in this process -

Justin’s leadership embodies Entech’s “all-hands-on-deck” culture, where collaboration, adaptability, and integrity are central. Whether he’s reviewing a complex estimate, meeting with clients, or charting Entech’s path forward, Justin plays a critical role in ensuring the company remains a trusted partner for bold, complex, and imaginative builds.
“What makes Entech unique is that every voice matters - estimating, engineering, fabrication, or installation. When everyone is invested in the outcome, the culture naturally becomes collaborative.”
From detailed cost analysis to collaborative planning, estimating at Entech is about building trust as much as it is about building numbers. With leaders like Justin Stehr guiding the process, our team ensures clarity, transparency, and foresight at every stage. By embedding estimating at the heart of what we do, Entech continues to deliver projects that are bold, practical, and seamlessly executed.
